Understanding polymeric material and component failure can be critical to operational reliability as well as the health and safety of personnel. PMFC provides an independent failure investigation service that combines material identification and component damage characterisation alongside a broad knowledge of engineering hardware to provide a reliable root cause failure analysis service.

PMFC uses a range of in-house laboratory techniques to verify the identification and post service condition of polymeric materials against the OEM specification. Where further supporting evidence is required, analytical techniques are subcontracted (e.g. FTIR, GCMS, TGA, DSC, EDAX).
PMFC has operated for 6 years within its documented, process based quality management system that was UKAS certified to ISO 9001:2015 from 2019 until October 2025.
Moving forward from October 2025 the same established system modelled on the requirements of ISO9001:2015 continues to be used but without annual external assessment.

This system ensures consistency, reliability, and traceability in all activities. QMS objectives are to provide customer satisfaction and to drive the continual improvement of our services.
The decision to no longer be independently assessed for ISO9001:2015 compliance was made in light of the intention to gradually reduce project activity as the business owner approaches retirement.
